Experiment #001 - Bold Color Exploration
Let's go!
Welcome to the Lab – Let the Experiments Begin! 🧪✨
Grab your (metaphorical) lab coat and a splash of curiosity, because it’s time to dive into the colorful chaos of Stavrina Art Lab! I’ll be sharing my lab notes with you—full of creative hypotheses, and maybe a few happy accidents along the way.
But here’s the twist: this isn’t a one-scientist show. I want you to join in! Try your own experiments, test your theories with color and design, and don’t forget to share your results in the comments. I’d love to see what kind of artistic breakthroughs you discover in your lab!
Let’s make this a collaborative experiment! Ready to stir up some creativity? Let’s do this! 🌈✨
The first experiment will be about bold color exploration! My comfort zone lies within the softer and moody colors. Like the pattern below.
But let’s slowly get out of this safe zone and pour some bold colors on it! We are going to get seriously scientific! Buckle up!
Objective / Purpose
To explore the impact of bold colors in surface pattern design and observe their influence on emotions, mood, and visual engagement. Everything is about emotions after all! :-)
Hypothesis
Using more vivid colors will push the boundaries of Stavrina Art Lab’s designs, resulting in patterns that are more attention-grabbing, evoke stronger emotions, and expand the brand’s creative reach.
Expected Outcome: Bold colors will make the patterns feel fresh, energetic, and contemporary.
Materials & Methods
Materials: Digital design tools, high-saturation color palettes, experimental pattern techniques and braveness… a lot of it!
Procedure:
Gather inspirations from various sources (nature, art history, pop culture).
Create multiple patterns using bright, contrasting colors outside the usual palette.
Analyze and adjust to maintain harmony without compromising vibrancy.
Data Collection / Observations
Throughout the design process, observations will be recorded, noting:
Reactions and feedback on color combinations
The impact of bold colors on pattern structure and flow
Any unexpected interactions between colors and shapes
Results
Expected Results: Patterns that are more visually impactful, lively, and unique in style.
Note: Results will be shared with our audience for real-time feedback – stay tuned to join the experiment!
Conclusion
This experiment will allow Stavrina Art Lab and you to break new ground in design by challenging the usual boundaries of color usage. It’s a step into the unknown, where every pattern will reveal something new about the synergy between color and form.
Experiment Status: Ongoing
(Follow along and join the experiment!)
I cannot wait to read what are your current experiments with your art!
