Screen Printing Experiments
You should try this!
Hello my friends!
March has been a very tough month regarding many aspects of my life but it also included a very unique experience!
Over the past few weeks, I attended a series of screen printing seminars here in Athens (PIY seminars), and it was my very first time diving into this process. As Stavrina Art Lab, I’m always exploring ways to bring my work into the physical world, but this felt… different. More hands-on, more intentional, more alive.
You don’t have to consider yourself creative to try it! The diversity of the participants was a surprise for me!
There’s something incredibly satisfying about the process itself. From preparing the design, to coating the screen, to pulling that first layer of ink across fabric or paper. It’s part precision, part experimentation, and part pure magic. No two prints are ever exactly the same, and that’s what makes each piece feel personal. If you are careful enough, you can have high precision and repeatability, but I was having fun!
I created a small series of t-shirts and prints during the seminars (I’ll be sharing some photos and a short video of the process here), and seeing my designs come to life like this was honestly such a rewarding experience. The texture, the depth of the ink, the durability, it’s a completely different level compared to print-on-demand. It made me appreciate just how high-quality and customizable handmade production can be.

This experience also got me thinking… maybe it’s time to take this a step further. I’m starting to imagine what a small, carefully crafted product line could look like. Something tangible, wearable, collectible.
If you’re someone who enjoys creating (or even just appreciates thoughtful, handmade objects), I can’t recommend trying screen printing enough. It’s messy, it’s tactile, and it forces you to slow down and really engage with the process.
And if any of the pieces you see here happen to speak to you… well, you know where to find me 🙂
I also appreciate your feedback: either down below with a comment or replying directly to my email. Do you like my products? Would you like to add a unique piece like these to your wardrobe? What other recommendations do you have? Have you tried screen printing, and what was your experience? Or anything else you might like to share with me!
Stay creative and experiment,
